Try this easy salt and chilli chicken recipe. A crispy and flavourful treat, better than your Chinese takeaway
2 Chicken Breasts
1 Pepper
1 Onion
2 Garlic Cloves
2 tsp Chinese five spice
2 tsp Garlic Powder
3 tbsp Flour
1 Egg
1 tbsp Sweet Chilli Sauce
1 tbsp Soy Sauce
1 tbsp Teriyaki sauce
2 Spring Onions
Salt & Pepper
Dice the chicken, pepper and onion and crush the garlic. Cut the potatoes into chips as thin or thick as you like.
In a bowl mix the flour, 1 tsp of your chinese five spice, salt, pepper and 1 tsp of your garlic powder. Crack the egg in another bowl and beat it.
Coat your potatoes in some olive oil and then pop them in the air fryer at 180 degrees celsius for 15-20 mins or in the oven for 45 mins.
Take your diced chicken and dip them into the egg and then into the flour mixture to give them a nice coating.
Heat some sesame oil in a pan and fry the chicken for 5 mins until it just starts to crisp, then add your peppers, onions and garlic and fry for a further 5 mins.
Add the rest of the Chinese five spice and garlic powder, the sweet chilli sauce, soy sauce and teriyaki sauce and mix to combine. Finally, add the cooked chips and fry everything together for 2 mins.
Serve and top with some chopped spring onions and sesame seeds and dig in!
